UAB QEP Timeline 2012-2015

Fall 2012 – Spring 2013

  • Clarus Consulting Group leads the stakeholder engagement process to identify potential topics for UAB’s next QEP.

Spring 2013

  • President and Provost finalize QEP topic.

Fall 2013

  • QEP Steering Committee is formed.

Spring 2014

  • UAB Center for Educational Accountability (CEA) conducts surveys of department chairs, faculty, and co-curricular administrators.
  • CEA conducts analysis of 2013 IDEA data.

Spring-Summer 2014

  • Initial call for unit-based project proposals.

Summer 2014

  • Submission of unit-based project proposals.
  • QEP Communications Plan developed by Collat School of Business students.

Fall 2014

  • Year 1 unit-based projects selected.
  • Compliance Certification submitted to SACSCOC (September).
  • QEP Assessment Committee is formed.
  • CEA conducts analysis of Proficiency Profile cross-sectional and longitudinal data.

December 2014

  • Draft QEP is sent to Steering Committee and external reviewers for pre-submission feedback.

January 2015

  • Focused Report and QEP submitted to SACSCOC.
  • Provost and Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation meet with faculty to provide QEP update.

February 2015

  • SACSCOC On-Site Reaffirmation Visit

Spring 2015

  • Finalize QEP implementation plan based on comments received from SACSCOC.

August 2015

  • Implement QEP.

Summer 2020

  • UAB submits five-year Impact Report on Learning in a Team Environment to SACSCOC.
