Sergeant First Class Bankston enlisted into the Army on August 22, 2006. He completed OSUT at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he was awarded the Infantry (IN) 11B military occupational specialty.

SFC Bankston’s previous assignments include Rifle Platoon Sergeant for 2nd PLT Bushmaster Company 1st Bn 16th IN RGT 1st BDE 1st ID. Senior Drill Sergeant for 1st PLT Baker Company 1st BN 19th IN RGT 198th IN BDE. Senior Scout Team Leader for 2nd PLT Cherokee Company 3rd BN 1st Calvary RGT 3rd BDE 3rd ID. Weapons SQD LDR for 2nd PLT Apache Company for 4th BN 23rd IN RGT 2nd BDE 2nd ID. SQD LDR for 2nd PLT Attack Company 4th BN 23rd IN RGT 2nd BDE 2nd ID. TM LDR for Baker Company 1st BN 15th IN RGT 3rd BDE 3rd ID. SFC Bankston’s deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom (2 tours) and Operation Enduring Freedom (1 tour) and Operation Atlantic Resolve (2 Tours).

SFC Bankston’s military education includes Master Educators Course, Master Leaders Course (Distinguished Honor Grad), SHARP, Airborne, Senior Leaders Course (Commandant’s List), Drill Sergeant Academy (Commandant’s List), Equal Opportunity Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Air Assault, Long Range Marksmanship Course, Basic Leaders Course, Combatives Level 1, Combat Life Savers Course.

Family: Married to my wife Heather Bankston. Our anniversary is the 23rd of August we have known each other since the 7th grade. We have been married now for 15 years. We have two children Luke Bankston who is 11 years old born 10 April 2012, and my daughter Emma Bankston who is 8 years old born 3 April 2015. We currently reside in Helena Alabama where both my children attend school and I coach my son’s soccer team the Helena Huskies.
