Overview
The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Champions are a highly selective group of CAS student ambassadors who promote student engagement and pride in a liberal arts education. The group is led by the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement.
CAS Champions are leaders and are expected to engage with all areas of the College throughout the academic year. CAS Champions support the university’s shared values of integrity, respect, diversity and inclusiveness, collaboration, excellence and achievement, stewardship, and accountability.
CAS Champions are expected to support the College in connecting other students to the university and to the community. They assist the Dean’s Office in facilitating special events, recruitment efforts, Wellness Week, UAB Homecoming, and alumni events. They also support the Academic Integrity Board. CAS Champions may also participate in similar events deemed appropriate by the dean.
CAS Champions should be interested in working with students, administrators, donors, and friends for an average of five hours weekly.
CAS Champions will be awarded a $1500 scholarship for the academic year.
