“Interdisciplinary STEM Education Reform: Dishing Out Art in a Microbiology Laboratory”

Our paper reviews the connections between art and science over the centuries, showing how the creative impulses driving the former are also important for advancing the latter. We also show how using agar art in our microbiology course improved student’s attitudes toward science and their self-identification as a scientist.
