As the second annual ‘Mike’ Wilson Lecture approaches on October 23, 2026, CAS News looks back at the inaugural event in the series. Hosted each fall by the Department of Sociology, the lecture is made possible through a generous gift from its namesake.

Panion will once again serve as conductor and arranger for Wonder as the longtime collaborators embark on a 10-country European and United States tour celebrating 50 years of one of the most acclaimed albums in popular music history.

The UAB Department of Music presents recitals and concerts by students, faculty and guest artists each fall and spring semester, most of them free and open to the public.
