Costume Studio
The costume studio is fully equipped with domestic and industrial sewing machines and sergers, industrial irons, four large cutting tables, dress forms, rolling racks and a curtained off fitting area.
The John S. and Carol S. Odess Theatre
Our more intimate productions are staged here, in our flexible-seating "Black Box” venue. This space -- a remarkable gift from Department benefactors Jack and Carol Odess -- is an unusually well-outfitted studio, with 84 free lighting circuits, six surround-sound channels, and even a motorized fly system.
Prop Shop
The Prop Studio is fully equipped with woodworking, carpentry, paint and craft supplies. Located in the 2300 Building, the Prop Studio contains a fully operation shop and paint space, a craft and soft-goods room, and 3500 sq. ft. of furniture and prop storage.
Scene Shop
The shop is well equipped for wood working, metal fabrication and welding, and plastics. A paint area is also located in the shop. The space is also plumbed throughout with pneumatic stations for tooling and stage automation purposes.
The Morris K. Sirote Theatre
Our larger-scale shows are presented here, in the 350-seat Sirote Theatre. Its 38-foot-wide proscenium, state-of-the-art audio, and 384-circuit lighting system make it one of the finest theatres of its kind in the region.
