What makes an amusement park ride so amusing?? Discover the laws of physics that make roller coasters a thrill ride. By rolling cars down an adjustable track, students will utilize a photogate to calculate velocities and kinetic energies. Marbles traveling through loops and over hills provide information about centripetal acceleration, g-forces, and friction. The experiment concludes by letting students utilize their knowledge by designing and building their own roller coasters.
