Junior Scientist for Rising 5th and 6th Graders

Scientists love to use both their logic and creativity to find out more about the world. In this fun week you’ll sharpen your scientist skills as you design your own experiments, mix up surprising solutions, design clever circuits, and solve a mystery or two! This week of camp will keep you busy with some of our all-time favorite science and engineering lab activities using our at-home kits and daily instruction from a live teacher!
DNA and You for Rising 7th Graders
Offered (select one week): June 22nd-26th and July 13th-17th
In this forensic-themed camp learn about what makes you, you! We’ll explore the DNA that makes all of your wonderful traits and learn how to use real DNA evidence to solve cases. Using our at-home kits and daily online instruction with a live teacher, you’ll get to isolate DNA from a living organism, determine blood type, model mutations, and help solve a couple of forensic cases. We’ll even send you some materials and recipes to make DNA-themed treats! Join us to become a CSI-style sleuth!
Food For Thought for Rising 7th and 8th Graders

From how we cook and store food to what tastes good, the kitchen is all about chemistry! Grab your lab coat and put on an apron in this fun week of some of our favorite food-based experiments! You’ll have fun exploring essential elements of some of your favorite foods and you’ll get to make a few tasty treats!

Chemical engineers work to design just about every type of product you interact with daily, from toothpaste and shampoo to food and medicine. They even help design new products to make the world a better place. Using our at-home kits and live daily instruction, bring together all the fun of chemical reactions and your innovative skills to work as a chemical engineer and design new products, fun toys, and tasty treats!
