FY2028 Institutional Research Core Application Process Begins
New core proposals: Letter of Intent due December 1
The Office of Research is beginning the FY2028 Institutional Research Core Program (IRCP) designation process and accepting Letters of Intent from groups proposing a new core. Letters of Intent are due December 1, 2026. Existing designated IRCP cores and IRCP pilot cores will proceed directly to the full application.
The IRCP supports shared research infrastructure, expertise, and services used across UAB to access capabilities that would be difficult for individual laboratories or units to sustain independently. Its 17 current core facilities serve more than 800 faculty annually and support more than $274 million in funded research.
