In January 2020, Jennifer Bail, PhD, RN, began a tenure-track assistant professor position at the College of Nursing at the University of Alabama in Huntsville upon completion of her T32 CPCTP post-doctoral fellowship.

During this fellowship, Dr. Bail completed 9 manuscript submissions (6 peer-reviewed publications [4 first-authored]; 3 currently under review) and 8 abstracts submitted for poster presentation. As part of her CPCTP fellowship, she completed a “Mock Review” session to strengthen her NIH/NINR K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award resubmission. While unfunded, this resubmission received an excellent score of 29 and provided her invaluable hands-on grant writing experience. 

She also mentored several graduate and undergraduate students, providing them research experience while enhancing her professional skills and career potential as an academic faculty member. Serving as a preceptor for the NCI-funded Cancer Research Experiences for Students (CaRES) program, she also mentored medical, pharmacy, and public health students from UAB, Auburn, and Samford Universities.
