For this teacher certification program, students may choose a course of study in both Early Childhood, Elementary Education or both Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

The UAB Early Childhood and Elementary Education programs will prepare you for a career as a highly qualified preschool, kindergarten, or elementary school teacher. • Learning to teach diverse populations is paramount to our work. During your time at the UAB School of Education, you will have teaching field experiences in urban, suburban, and rural environments.
  • Students have the opportunity to conduct research and present at the Office of Undergraduate Research Expo.
  • Qualified students can apply for the Early Childhood and Elementary Education Honors Program in their junior year.
