Internship applications are due on the last day of the week in January, one semester (not including summer) prior to the fall internship; two semesters prior to the spring internship.
Applications for fall 2015 and spring 2016 are due by January 30, 2015.
Fall 2015 Student Teaching Dates:
8/24: Mandatory Student Teaching Orientation for all *non-hired interns; 9:00am-12:00pm; Lincoln Professional Development Center (901 9th Ave. N., Room 124)
8/24: Extended Mandatory Orientation for ALL Elementary Education interns; 12:00pm-4:00pm; EB 147
8/24: Mandatory Student Teaching Orientation for all hired/full-time teaching interns; 4:30pm-5:30pm; Sterne Library, Henley Room
8/31, 9/1, 9/2: Non-P6 interns - Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI) training for all *non-hired interns; 8:30am-3:30pm; Lincoln Professional Development Center (901 9th Ave. N.)
ARI for P6 Interns - Dates and location to be determined
8/27, 9/10, 10/1, 10/15, 11/5: Internship seminars for ALL secondary interns, including math, sciences, social studies, history, English, Spanish, French, music, and art; 5:00pm-7:30pm; location to be announced
8/25: First day in assigned school for all *non-hired interns
9/22, 10/6, 10/20, 11/10: Internship seminars for ALL elementary interns; 1:00pm-5:00pm; EB 149S
10/13: First Aid/CPR deadline - copy of cards must be emailed to Ms. Vega
10/14: Beginning of second half of internship (for K-12 certification areas)
12/4: Last day of internship
12/7 - 12/11: Make-up days of internship absences
*"NON-HIRED" refers to interns that will not be completing their internship as Alternative Master's full-time hired teachers within their field of certification.
