The Educational Leadership Program prepares educators for administrative and curriculum/instructional leadership positions in their field and equips them with the knowledge and skills they need to effectively support high quality learning and to transform schools. Our program has long partnered with the school districts of Greater Birmingham, and we draw upon a unique blend of urban, suburban, and rural schools in the preparation of our graduate students.

In addition to attaining the positions of superintendent, principal, assistant principal, and curriculum/instructional leaders, many of our graduates have received local, state, and national recognition for their scholarly contributions to the field of school leadership.

Our programs are tailored to the learning needs and schedules of busy school professionals—no class starts before 5 PM, and classes meet only one night per week during the fall and spring semesters. We provide coursework and field experiences appropriate to students’ career goals in a helpful and collaborative educational environment.
