Beginning June 9, 2017, our survey partner ModernThink began delivering the first institution-level results from the UAB Campus Engagement Survey to UAB leadership, including the President, President's Cabinet, Dean's Council, Faculty Senate and Staff Council. The results were also presented to the Strategic Planning Council, which is working to develop a roadmap for major initiatives at UAB in the next five years.

Our initial review of the data offers much to celebrate, as well as opportunities for improvement. The survey revealed great pride in UAB and its contributions to the community, as well as optimism for the future. We also heard that resource constraints — including parking, facilities and staffing — are pain points for many faculty and staff. We look forward to continuing our campus conversation about how to make this special institution even better.

Also in the fall, detailed school- and unit-level results were shared by the deans and vice presidents in those areas.
