The primary objective of Commercial Vehicle Operations (CVO) is to increase productivity and safety in the freight transportation industry by streamlining the licensing, registration, regulatory, taxation, and freight delivery processes. This session discusses ITS applications to Commercial Vehicle Operations. Emphasis is give to the four broad program areas of the national ITS/CVO program, namely safety assurance, credentials administration, electronic screening, and carrier operations.
