Open Enrollment for 2027 benefit selections for eligible UAB, UAB Hospital and UAB Hospital Management LLC employees starts Friday, October 16, at 7 a.m. and ends Monday, November 2, at 5 p.m. This is an active open enrollment, which means any benefit-eligible employee who does not select a 2027 health care plan option during the enrollment period will not have UAB-provided health care coverage (medical, dental, vision) beginning January 2027.

The UAB Benefits Office is releasing benefit plan information for 2027 in weekly installments via articles in the UAB Reporter and other campus communication outlets. Each article will include links back to the UAB for Me Benefits Portal at uab.edu/hrintouch, where additional information about each topic will be provided as details are finalized.

This year, the Benefits Office is also offering the UAB Annual Open Enrollment Webinar to help employees navigate the Open Enrollment process with confidence. This informative session will be offered in the Campus LMS ahead of the first day of enrollment period:

• Wednesday, September 23, 9-10 a.m.
• Wednesday, September 30, 1-2 p.m.
• Thursday, October 8, 1-2 p.m.
• Friday, October 9, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
