Pink Party 2024
October 1, 5-7 p.m.October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Sign up to have some fun and get an annual screening mammogram while you mix, mingle and enjoy snacks, Tuesday, October 1, 5 to 7 p.m. in the 5th floor mammography waiting area of The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital. Spaces are limited and open to UAB employees, immediate family members of UAB employees, and City of Birmingham employees.
Please note: Insurance generally covers one screening mammogram per year for women age 40 and older. At least one year and one day must have passed between mammogram screenings for insurance to cover the cost. Please bring a completed patient form and any previous imaging/films, if possible.
Register for your 2024 Wellscreen
October 1-November 11A Wellscreen is a free 15-minute health screen for all UAB, UAB Hospital, LLC, UA Health Services Foundation, UAB Health System, and Cooper Green employees who are eligible for a medical plan. A Wellscreen measures blood pressure, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, blood sugar, BMI, triglycerides, and cholesterol/HDL ratio.

Get your flu shot
Starting October 2Employees can get a free flu shot at three locations across campus. Visit uab.edu/flu for more information including the 2024 flu shot clinic schedule.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, June 18-September 20, 5:30-6:30 p.m.Join the UAB Employee Assistance & Counseling Center's certified yoga instructor for a slow-paced, less-intense yet challenging experience in a noncompetitive, judgment-free environment. Gain flexibility, strength and coordination and enhance your cardiovascular health, mental clarity and overall wellbeing. Please bring your own mat, two yoga blocks and a blanket or beach towel.
