On Wednesday October 8, 2014 Cindy the Pink Fire Truck will visit the Women and Infants Center. People who have been personally affected by the disease will be allowed to sign the truck but ALL are welcomed and encouraged to come.
Beginning in 2015, as a part of our ongoing efforts to improve the health of our faculty and staff, UAB is pleased to offer this new health screening initiative designed to improve overall employee health risk and reward faculty and staff based on improved or maintained health risk levels.
UAB School of Optometry Community Eye Care Department has partnered with UAB Wellness to offer vision screenings across the UAB Campus and UAB Medicine facilities. The screening will check vision acuity (distance and near vision), peripheral vision – non central points of vision, tonometry- pressure inside the eye, color vision, ophthalmoscopy (allows doctor to see inside the back of the eye.), and slit lamp-3-D view of different parts of the eye. No appointments necessary. Click here to view the full screening schedule.
The physician-led program offers tailored diet plans, behavioral modification, weekly classes, exercise planning and weight-loss surgery.
To learn more about the program or to request an appointment, call 205.934.7053 or visit the UAB Medicine Weight Loss website.
