If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to stay organized, this is the place for you. We’ve dug around and found five ways you can use the Microsoft 365 environment to become the new organized version of yourself.
- Use digital calendars to keep yourself on track
Use your Outlook calendar to help you manage appointments, set reminders, and share schedules with others. You can even color-code your events to reflect on the different projects you may be working on. - Adopt task management apps
Apps like Microsoft To Do allow you to create lists, set priorities, and track progress. You can break big goals into smaller tasks and use recurring reminders for habits. Tasks can be tracked in Teams, Outlook, and the stand-alone app. Take it a step further and organize departmental or team tasks in the Planner app. - Leverage Cloud Storage
OneDrive lets you access your files across any device. Stay ahead by organizing folders by project or category and use search features to find documents quickly. You can even see files shared with you. - Use Note-Taking and Digital Journals
OneNote is there to help capture ideas, take meeting notes, and be a place to lay out plans. With the ability to have multiple tabs, it is ideal to use for large projects. - Automate your repetitive tasks
Power Automate can handle routine processes — saving attachments, updating spreadsheets or sending reminders. This reduces manual work and keeps everything streamlined.
And if you want some AI help, Microsoft offers two versions of Copilot, a free chatbot and a paid version that acts as an AI assistant. Copilot 365, which requires a subscription, can give your personal insights for all your organizational needs. It can provide daily or weekly productivity summaries, suggest ways to optimize time based on your habits, and generate meeting notes and action items automatically.
You can use Copilot with Data Protection to access the free AI bot. Visiting copilot.cloud.microsoft allows you to access the power of AI, without sacrificing your data.
