UAB IT is reminding students, faculty and staff to be cautious of emails, text messages and online forms that request passwords, Duo passcodes or other account credentials.

Recently, scammers have used compromised UAB accounts to send phishing messages that appear legitimate and direct users to fake verification forms, including Google forms. These scams often use urgent language about account verification, unusual activity or access restrictions.

Remember: UAB IT will never ask for your password or Duo passcode by email, text message or online form.

If a message asks you to:

  • Enter your BlazerID password
  • Provide a Duo passcode
  • Approve an unexpected Duo prompt
  • Submit information through a Google Form or other non-UAB site

it is likely a phishing attempt.

If you receive a suspicious message, do not click any links or provide any information, including your password or a passcode. Report the email via the Outlook phish reporting button or forward it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
