For physicians, ongoing education and development is essential for the maintenance of clinical competency in a variety of settings. Physicians successfully completing the fellowship will demonstrate growth by facilitating the acquisition, critical analysis, synthesis and reassessment of knowledge, expanding the breadth and depth of clinical and academic skills, and continuing to develop the qualities of professionalism and humanistic skills.
The primary goal of the UAB Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program is to train the next generation of Cardiovascular Specialists in Clinical Cardiology and Research. In addition to the Cardiovascular Disease Training Program, subspecialty training is offered in the fields of Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Interventional Cardiology.
