UAB Diabetes Research Day will take place Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2026, at the Heersink Conference Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

The event will bring together scientists and leaders from across the UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center, UAB community, and state to learn about the latest in cutting-edge diabetes and metabolic disease research.

Faculty, trainees, and students are invited to attend this lively day of learning and networking highlighted by keynote speakers, oral presentations, and a trainee poster session.

Abstract Submissions

Trainees and faculty members are invited to submit abstracts to be considered for oral or poster presentations and for the Best Diabetes Research Abstract.

Matthew Might, Ph.D.

Matt Might, Ph.D. is Professor in the UAB Heersink School of Medicine and Director of the Hugh Kaul Precision Medicine Institute. He is a Senior Scientist in the UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center.
