UCDC Seed Funding

The UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center (UCDC) invites faculty to submit applications annually for the UCDC Seed Funding program.  The Request for Applications usually comes out in October of each year.  Each year a theme for the applications is announced in the RFA.   Eligibility:  Funding will be available to full time UAB faculty members at any rank, but a strong track record of publication and funding is desirable.  Projects will be favored if consistent with the focus of this RFA and likely to lead to future NIH funding; multiple PIs are admissible.  (Junior investigators and scientists interested in other topics should apply to the DRC/UCDC RFA for Pilot Projects below.)

DRC Pilot and Feasibility Funding
The Diabetes Research Center (DRC) Pilot and Feasibility Funding Program is an important mechanism to augment diabetes research and promote the next generation of research leaders. The P&F process taps a rich tradition of such programs at UAB. University-wide centers have long provided pilot funding opportunities to junior faculty and senior faculty entering new areas of research.  The P&F program will foster new research programs in diabetes, and support a broad base of basic, clinical, translational, and prevention and control projects.  The RFA for this program is released yearly in October.

UAB CCTS Translational Research Intramural Grant Program funds new interdisciplinary clinical and translational research projects to grow mature research programs in these areas. One-year, $60,000 awards are funded annually through a two-step proposal process including a pre-proposal submission and the invitation of full applications.
