Dean's Council for Graduate Medical Education (DCGME)

The Dean's Council for Graduate Medical Education (DCGME) eastablished a subcommittee for
Diversity, Multicultural Affairs, and Inclusion in the Spring of 2013. Subcommittee members
include residents, fellows, faculty memebrs, program directors, and Heersink School of Medicine
leadership.

The purpose of the subcommittee is to promote a more diverse presence of highly qualified
trainees at UAB, while continuing to promote a culture and environment that is welcoming and
inclusive, where everyone can equally thrive and succeed, regardless of their background.
