Bio
I was born and raised in Mobile, AL and was lucky enough to enjoy a lot of the opportunities the Gulf Coast has to offer growing up close to Mobile Bay and the many beaches. After attending Auburn University, I took a few years off trying to figure out life before starting medical school. I ended up working in construction, doing odd end jobs, and finally landed in a community ED working as a medical scribe. Throughout medical school I continued to find aspects of other specialities I liked, but always found myself coming back to Emergency Medicine. I got married to my wife at the end of 3rd year of medical school (sadly she is a typical Alabama Crimson Tide fan) and she is an elementary school teacher in the local area. We both have always enjoyed the city of Birmingham and UAB Emergency Medicine was high on my list even before interview season. Compared to many other programs across the Southeast I interviewed at, I feel like UAB had some of the highest acuity and greatest opportunities to develop me into the best physician I can be. I enjoy being on the water, fishing, cycling, and a good get together!
