Training programs designed to provide a challenging, hands-on patient care experience

The UAB Heersink School of Medicine is nationally recognized for postdoctoral education, training, research, and professional development opportunities. There are more than 1,200 residents, fellows and postdoctoral trainees active within the School's departments and branch campuses across the state.

The Department of Emergency Medicine is home to a residency program, fellowships and a medical student clerkship. Board-certified emergency physicians are dedicated to the provision of instructional support and education in the Emergency Department.
