I chose UAB because I liked the residents, the chance to work with one of the sickest populations in the south, and the opportunities a giant institution affords. Ultimately, however, I’m here because the military decided I would be a good fit with the program, and I’m thankful for that decision. Birmingham has some great food and a lot to do with a smaller town feel which makes it fun place to live. Ten years from now, I should be finishing up my service commitment, and I would like to think that I’ll be back in Birmingham.
