The 2024 Cayetano-Gorgas Tropical Dermatology Course will be held between April 1st and April 5th, 2024. Applications for 2024 are closed.

Eligibility

Applicants are required to hold a Medical Degree plus at least one of the following:
 • Two years of cumulative experience in the developing world in a setting where patients with tropical and parasitic diseases constitute the majority of the workload.
 • Substantial practice experience in the field of clinical tropical medicine since completion of training. Should include care of patients for the evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment of tropical and parasitic disease.
 • Certification as an Infectious Disease Specialist after completion of a recognized training program.
 • Certification as a Dermatology Specialist, or currently in the final years of a dermatology residency training program.
 • Diploma or Masters in Clinical Tropical Medicine or equivalent.

Application process

The registration process for the Cayetano Heredia – WC Gorgas Course in Tropical Dermatology is on a first-come basis.

Participants

Maximum of 20 participants.

Tuition

Tuition for the 2024 Tropical Dermatology Course is $2,000 USD and includes daily transportation from Miraflores to the Alexander von Humboldt Tropical Medicine Institute at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia.

Accommodation

Participants are responsible for their own lodging. We strongly suggest staying in the district of Miraflores in the vicinity of the Hotel Jose Antonio Executive in Miraflores, since the daily pick-up point of the bus is in front of this hotel.

Transportation

Daily transportation is covered while in Lima. A bus will depart every day at 7 AM from the Hotel Jose Antonio Executive in Miraflores and return to Miraflores from the Tropical Medicine Institute after finishing the afternoon sessions.

Travel

Participants are responsible for their own international flight arrangements. Pre and post-course excursions can be easily arranged with local operators.
