Our commitment to preventing chronic disease and improving population health is facilitated by our dedicated team members and guided by four Advisory Boards, each representing a unique perspective.

The Internal Advisory Board reviews the work of the Healthy Living Center and guides the scientific and collaborative direction of our work within UAB, forging partnerships and fostering collaboration. The External Advisory Board reviews our progress and guides the work of the center from a national perspective, ensuring that our work is responsive to national trends and innovations in chronic disease prevention and population health improvement research. The Community Advisory Board ensures that the Center stays attuned to the priorities and concerns of individuals and organizations throughout Alabama and the Deep South, and helps to nurture and maintain fruitful partnerships and collaborations. The Young Professionals Board helps guide our work by setting priorities for specific community-based health improvement programs and working to facilitate their implementation.

Together, these groups provide strategic guidance, ensure accountability, and help align the Center’s work with real-world needs.
