Dr. Liau forsiteSave the date for the 37th Annual J. Garber Galbraith, M.D., Scientific Session and Lecture, Friday, November 6, 2020, featuring this year’s speaker Linda M. Liau, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A. Liau is a professor and the W. Eugene Stern Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She is the Co-Director of the UCLA Brain Tumor Center, and Principal Investigator and Director of the NCI-designated UCLA Brain Tumor Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE).

In 2018, Liau was elected to the National Academy of Medicine (NAM). She was the first woman President of the Western Neurosurgical Society (WNS), and is serving as the first woman Chair of the American Board of Neurological Surgeons (ABNS; 2019-2020).  She will speak on "Brain Tumor Immunology & Immunotherapy."

The event will be held in a new format as a virtual hybrid. Only the presenters will be meeting in person. Case presentations, including residents and Liau, will kick off at 8:30 a.m., while the symposium portion officially begins at 10 a.m. Liau will speak at 4 p.m., and the closing ceremony wraps the day at 5 p.m.
