seongho jo ada 600x450SeongHo Jo, Ph.D., research scientist in the lab of UCDC Director Anath Shalev, M.D., gave the oral presentation, “Oral TIX100 Protects Against Weight Rebound After Semaglutide Discontinuation,” on June 8 at the ADA Scientific Sessions in New Orleans. The UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center (UCDC) and Diabetes Research Center (DRC) members showcased their latest scientific findings at the American Diabetes Association (ADA) 86th Scientific Sessions, June 5-8, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

UAB faculty, staff, and trainees shared their expertise in nearly 25 symposiums, oral presentations, poster presentations, and debates throughout the four-day conference, recognized as the world’s largest scientific meeting focused on diabetes research, care, detection, treatment, and prevention.

UAB scientists presented research on a variety of diabetes and metabolism topics spanning Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, obesity, diabetic eye disease, and emerging treatment therapies such as oral TIX100 and GLP-1s.

The next ADA Scientific Sessions will take place June 18–21, 2027, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Registration will open in January.
