The UAB Medicine Leadership Development Office (LDO) recently recognized 11 individuals in its ninth cohort of its LEading, Advancing, Developing (LEAD) program. The fall 2026 graduates received their certificates on Sept. 3.

LEAD is designed for associate professors and is offered in the fall and spring.

The 9th cohort of LEAD includes:

  • Claretha “Clare” Lyas, M.D., Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology
  • Bernadette Marquez-Nostra, Ph.D., Department of Radiology, Division of Advanced Medical Imaging Research
  • Sravanti Rangaraju, M.D., Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology
  • Lauren Shea, M.D., Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology
  • Carlie Somerville, M.D., Departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Division of General Internal Medicine
  • “K” Kadambari Vijaykumar, M.D., MBBS, Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine
