UAB Medicine’s Leadership Development Office would like to welcome 19 individuals in its 12th cohort of the Institute for Leadership in the spring of 2026.
The goal of the UAB Medicine Institute for Leadership is to enhance existing personal, leadership, and management competencies while leveraging current leadership strategies and trends. The 6-month program features guest speakers from executive-level leadership positions at UAB, including former graduates of the Institute for Leadership.

Oyedele Adeyi, M.D.
Professor and Anatomic Pathology Division Director
Department of Pathology
Adeyi is a professor and divisional director of anatomic pathology at UAB and the UAB Health Services Foundation. He has over 20 years of subspecialty expertise in medical, oncologic, and transplant liver pathology and is internationally recognized as a leader in this field. He has been an active member of several top professional societies and has co-authored and published guidelines in liver transplant diagnoses and assessments over the last 20 years. He is a well-respected educator, having taught and mentored many residents and fellows over the years. He receives second opinion requests from institutions in the US, Canada, and overseas. His more than 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts in high-impact journals and book chapters in pathology and radiology volumes are highly cited.
Katie Brooks, MSN, RN, CPAN, LSSGB
Manager
Highlands Perioperative Services
With over a decade of progressive clinical and leadership experience, Brooks currently serves as the Nurse Manager of Perioperative Services at UAB Hospital Highlands, where she oversees the Same-Day Surgery, Pre-Op, PACU, and Inpatient Pain Service/Regional Anesthesia nursing teams. Central to Katie’s leadership philosophy is her commitment to mentoring and professional growth. She is deeply invested in developing the skills and confidence of frontline staff, creating opportunities for nurses and team members to succeed, lead, and innovate. Through this dedication, she has cultivated a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence in perioperative practice.
Katie earned her BSN from Auburn University and later completed a Master of Science in Nursing in Health Systems Administration at UAB, where she also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Quality and Safety. Most recently, she earned Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
She is an active member of the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses and serves on multiple hospital-wide committees, including Perioperative Policy, Pharmacy Nurse Liaison, and Patient Safety. Her passion for guiding others, coupled with her drive for continuous improvement, has positioned her as a trusted leader and advocate for both patients and colleagues alike.
Jacqueline Garonzik Wang, M.D., Ph.D.
Professor, Division Chief, Institute Director
Department of Surgery, Transplant Surgery
Wang was born and raised in Baltimore and completed her undergraduate studies in Public Health Sciences at Johns Hopkins University. She obtained her medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and then returned to Baltimore to complete her general surgery training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Additionally, she obtained a Ph.D. in Clinical Investigation at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed her fellowship in Abdominal Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, and then joined the Johns Hopkins Faculty as a transplant surgeon in 2016. She subsequently moved to the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2021 and to serve as the Surgical Director of the Kidney Transplant program. Most recently, she was recruited to the University of Alabama to serve as the Arnold Diethelm Endowed Chair and Professor of Surgery, Division Chief of Abdominal Transplant Surgery, and Director of the Comprehensive Transplant Institute, with a start date of Dec. 1, 2025.

Kimberly Hendrix-Price, RN, BSN

Hendrix-Price began her nursing career in 2001 as a medical-surgical nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. After marrying in 2002, she transitioned to a PRN role and relocated to Auburn, where she accepted a first full-time position as a cardiac nurse in the open-heart recovery unit at East Alabama Medical Center. It was there that she discovered her enduring passion for cardiology—a field in which she has spent the past 23 years building deep expertise across the full continuum of cardiac care.
Kimberly’s bedside experience spans high-acuity environments including CVICU, rapid response, electrophysiology (EP) lab, and the cardiac catheterization (Cath) lab. Her leadership experience is equally extensive, encompassing oversight of CVICU, CV stepdown, cardiac stepdown, central monitoring, cardiovascular diagnostics, structural heart programs, the Cath Lab, the EP Lab, and cardiac rehabilitation services.
In addition to her clinical and leadership roles, Kimberly has served as a cardiovascular quality and outcomes manager. In this capacity, she abstracted and managed data for multiple national registries, including STS, CathPCI, TAVR, MitraClip, and LAAO, supporting evidence-based practice, performance improvement, and excellence in cardiovascular outcomes.
With more than two decades dedicated to cardiac nursing, Kimberly is recognized for her clinical acumen, her commitment to quality, and her passion for advancing cardiovascular care.
Kim Kirk, RN, MSN, BC-MS
Director of Nursing
Nursing Administration
With 44 years of dedicated nursing experience, Kirk has built a comprehensive career spanning acute care, surgical services, orthopedics, home health, and nursing leadership. She began my journey in surgery at a Level I trauma center, where she gained extensive expertise in fast-paced, high-acuity environments. Her career expanded into orthopedics and later into home health, where she progressed from case manager to Area Director, overseeing a wide range of operational and clinical functions.
She eventually returned to acute care as the manager of a 32-bed post-surgical unit, strengthening my leadership in inpatient care delivery. After relocating to Birmingham, Alabama, Kirk joined St. Vincent’s, initially serving as a Patient Care Supervisor. Through her continued commitment to patient care excellence and operational leadership, she advanced to Unit Manager and ultimately became Director of Nursing, overseeing inpatient medical-surgical services, intensive care, and medical step-down units.
Across every role, she has been driven by a passion for high-quality patient care, team development, and operational effectiveness, continually striving to support both clinical staff and the communities served.
Lori Mehaffey, DNP, RN-BC
Senior Director
Ambulatory Services, UAB Hospital
Mehaffey is the Senior Director of Ambulatory Services at UAB Hospital, where she has served for more than 17 years. Lori has provided strategic leadership and oversight for ambulatory operations for over 10 years, advancing high-quality, patient-centered care across the clinics. Throughout her tenure, she has led and participated in numerous quality improvement initiatives focused on enhancing clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and patient experience. Notably, Lori played a key role in the development of the Ambulatory Intermediate Care Clinic (AICC) proof of concept, a model designed to strengthen coordination and continuity of care across hospital settings.
Lori earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the UAB School of Nursing in 2018, reflecting a strong commitment to evidence-based practice, leadership, and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery. She is currently completing her final semester in the Foundations of Business Administration Graduate Certificate program, offered by the UAB Collat School of Business.
Robert “Rob” Mendoza, MBA

Mendoza is Whitfield Regional Hospital's Chief Financial Officer, reporting to the Hospital CEO, Douglas Brewer. Whitfield Regional Hospital is a UAB-managed hospital under the UAB Rural Health Network. As CFO, Rob has direct oversight of the hospital's financial operations, encompassing General Accounting, Accounts Payables, Payroll, Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury, Revenue Cycle, Patient Access, Information Technology, Health Information Management/Privacy, Supply Chain Management, and Utilization Review. Rob joined UAB Health System in October 2023 and has worked closely with UAB Health System senior leadership to ensure alignment, consistency, and financial stability at Whitfield Regional.
Rob has over 20 years of experience in healthcare finance and operations, including 12 years as a senior leader, building and leading high-performing teams in nationally ranked healthcare systems in South Florida. As a Miami, Florida native, Rob began his career at Baptist Health South Florida, where he spent 17 years serving in operational and financial leadership roles in Risk Management, Medical Group Administration, Acquisition Services, and Corporate Finance. Thereafter, over the next two years, his professional growth continued with organizations such as Memorial Healthcare Systems and Jackson Health Systems, where he served as a senior leader, spearheaded service line development initiatives, and oversaw hospital financial operations.
Throughout the 20+ years’ operating in the healthcare space, Rob has been an integral team member for several organizational impacting strategic initiatives like the successful implementation of multi-hospital EMR/ERP implementations, the acquisition and integration of 3 acute care facilities with 200+ beds, the implementation of a robust analytics and dashboard reporting system and, more recently, the complete transformation of the fiscal service pillar.
Prior to his healthcare career, in February 2001, Rob enlisted and served as an active-duty member for four years in the United States Marine Corps, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. In 2003, he deployed overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. For his diligence and unwavering commitment to duty, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expedition Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Presidential Unit Citation.
Rob holds multiple professional certifications as well as an MBA with a specialization in Finance & Healthcare Management from St. Thomas University in Miami, FL, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Service Administration with a minor in Accounting from Barry University in Miami, FL. Despite his affinity for serving others in the healthcare space, what he loves and enjoys most is spending time with his wife, Christine, and their 6-month-old baby boy, named Maximiliano (Mad Max).
Anthony Morlandt, M.D., DDS, FACS
Endowed Waite Professor, Vice Chair, AMQO, & Fellowship Program Director
Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Morlandt is fellowship-trained in head and neck cancer surgery and microvascular reconstruction and is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. His oncology practice focuses on surgical treatment of tumors involving the oral cavity and oropharynx, salivary glands, skin of the head and neck, and skull base. He is the director of the Oral Oncology section at UAB, the largest oral cancer regional referral program in the U.S. Southeast.
In addition to his clinical duties, he holds several leadership roles. He is the Endowed Peter D. Waite Professor with tenure and Vice Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In addition, he directs the head and neck oncology and microvascular surgery fellowship program at UAB. Dr. Morlandt holds the position of Medical Quality Officer in UAB Medicine and directs several key quality and safety-related initiatives across the institution. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the American Association of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons. Locally, he serves as a board member of United Ability, an Alabama nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities.
Morlandt’s research and academic mission are focused on improving outcomes for patients with head and neck cancer. His current research focuses on the use of prognostic biomarkers in the progression of oral dysplasia to cancer. He is the U.S. Chief Medical Officer of Proteocyte AI, a Toronto-based company dedicated to ending late-stage oral cancer detection and improving survival through AI-powered predictive analytics. His work has been published in over 50 scientific articles and book chapters, and he has given more than 100 invited oral and video presentations. Morlandt is a Scientist in the Cancer Chemoprevention Program in the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Alabama. In 2015, Morlandt received the Faculty Educator Development Award of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the first in Alabama to do so. He has been inducted into the American Head and Neck Society and is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons.
Samuel “Sam” Pollock, MHA

Pollock is an experienced healthcare administrator with a strong background in operational leadership within academic medical centers. Currently serving as the Director of Clinical Administration at the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation, Sam oversees the strategic, operational, and financial management of multiple clinical departments, including Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Clinical Genetics, Camellia Medical Group, and the STEP Clinic, aligning departmental goals with institutional mission and priorities.
Prior to this role, he served as Project Manager for Clinical Practice Operations at UAB Hospital, where he led system-wide process improvement initiatives, managed enhanced recovery programs, and facilitated operational efficiencies across multiple service lines. Sam also brings consulting experience from Deloitte, where he worked on healthcare workforce strategies, system implementations, and operational analyses to drive organizational performance and cost savings.
Pollock holds a Master of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina, a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Quality and Safety from UAB, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Mercer University. Throughout his career, Sam has demonstrated a commitment to advancing patient care, operational excellence, and academic mission support in complex healthcare environments.
Outside of his professional life, Sam enjoys spending time with his two children, wife, and two dogs at home. He enjoys watching football, particularly his Georgia Bulldogs, playing golf, and has recently discovered pickleball.
Robert “Bobby” Reed, CCP, MSHA, MHS

Reed a dedicated healthcare leader, clinical specialist, and U.S. Army veteran with a career built on service, collaboration, and a commitment to improving patient care. For over three decades, he has served at UAB, helping to shape and advance one of the nation’s most comprehensive cardiovascular and perioperative programs.
He hold a Master of Healthcare Administration from UAB, a Master of Health Science from Saint Francis University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. As a Certified Clinical Perfusionist, Reed has held various roles throughout my tenure, including Staff Perfusionist, Director of Cardiovascular Perfusion, Interim Director of Perioperative Services, and a key contributor to the strategic leadership of UAB’s Cardiac Program. His work has included supporting the largest cardiac and vascular expansion in UAB’s history, strengthening partnerships and contracting processes, and driving innovation across ECMO, VAD, perfusion, and perioperative services.
Throughout my career, Reed has focused on building strong teams, improving quality, and supporting a culture of excellence. He has helped guide the organization through significant transitions, including Joint Commission and CMS surveys, as well as the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Reed has also been deeply involved in developing clinical guidelines, negotiating clinical trial agreements, managing supply chains, and educating resident physicians, fellows, and clinical staff. His service on numerous executive and quality committees reflects my commitment to advancing evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
Outside of professional work, he is a proud father of four and grandfather of two. He enjoys fishing, golf, and traveling with his wife, and he values the time they spend exploring new places and creating lasting memories with their family. Reed's military service continues to ground him, shaping the way he leads, serves, and approaches each new challenge. Warm, steady, and purpose-driven, he strives to bring both compassion and expertise to every role he undertakes, always working to support the people, teams, and communities he is privileged to serve.
Chrystal Rutledge, M.D.
Associate Professor, Vice Chair of Access & Engagement
Department of Pediatrics
Rutledge is a Pediatric Critical Care physician at Children’s of Alabama and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine. She is originally from Bessemer, Alabama, and completed her undergraduate education at Auburn University, earned her medical degree at UAB, completed pediatric residency at UNC Chapel Hill, and returned to UAB for fellowship training in Pediatric Critical Care.
She currently serves as Vice Chair of Access & Engagement for the Department of Pediatrics and as Associate Program Director of the UAB Pediatric Residency Program. Rutledge also holds key simulation leadership roles, including Medical Co-Director of the Pediatric Simulation Center and Program Director of the Community Healthcare Education Simulation (COACHES) Program. Her non-clinical work focuses on strengthening pediatric readiness and access to high-quality care through simulation education and community outreach, while also advancing communication, workforce development, and a culture of belonging across the Department of Pediatrics.
Angela Saia, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-CP

Saia is the Director of Employee Relations at UAB Medicine and UAB St. Vincent’s. She has over 30 years of progressive experience in human resources within the healthcare industry. Her background includes building comprehensive human resource infrastructures, establishing policies, organizational systems, and compliance frameworks that support rapid and dynamic organizational growth.
She brings an extensive background with experience across nonprofit, private, and government sectors, having worked in a wide range of industries. Throughout her career, she’s partnered closely with boards of directors, executive leadership, and teams at every organizational level to drive strategic initiatives and foster collaboration. Angie has a proven track record of expertise in Human Resources, including employee and labor relations, project management, leadership development, talent acquisition, benefits, and regulatory compliance. Angie’s extensive human resources background gives her a deeper understanding of the needs of her partners and improves teams’ performance. She can offer unique insights from the viewpoint of both consultant and practitioner due to her diverse roles throughout her career.
She is a Certified HR Professional with the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP) with the Human Resources Certification Institute. Saia holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science in Business with a Minor in Human Resources from Auburn University.
B. Earl Salser Jr., M.D.

Salser is a family medicine physician and associate professor with the Department of Family and Community Medicine. He was recently selected as the inaugural vice-chair of education for the department. He also continues to serve as the associate residency director and track director for the Highlands program of the Cahaba+UAB Family Medicine Residency Program. Previously, he was the Birmingham campus family medicine clerkship director for the UAB Heersink School of Medicine for 16 years. He has also been involved in four additional medical education programs (FMIG, Dean’s Primary Care Scholars, Rural Pathway Program, CU2RE) dedicated to promoting and fostering medical student choice for family medicine as a career and service in underserved areas. His areas of interest include international medicine and academic medicine.
Diana Scalici, MSHA, MBA

Callahan Administration
Scalici recently joined UAB as the VP of Operations at UAB Callahan Eye. She started her role in Sept. 2025 with responsibility for surgical services and ambulatory operations and now serves as the administrator for UAB Callahan. Prior to joining UAB Callahan, she worked for St. Vincent's Health System for 14 years, most recently serving as the VP of Operations at St. Vincent's East. There, Scalici had responsibilities for all clinical and non-clinical ancillary support services, including CV services, Respiratory, Rehab, Imaging/Cancer Center, Lab, Facilities, Biomed, Support Services, and Security. Over the last year, she has had the opportunity to participate in the integration work between UAB and St. Vincent's. Throughout her career, she has worked in both hospital operations and ambulatory strategy and planning, including stints at The Kirklin Clinic and Bon Secours Health System in Baltimore, MD, and Richmond, VA. I hold a Bachelor's in Communications and Business from Spring Hill College and a Master's of Health Administration and Business Administration from UAB.
Boopathy Sivaraman, PharmD, MSc, MBA

Sivaraman is an accomplished pharmacy leader with over a decade of experience driving transformational change in health systems. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Auburn University’s-Harrison School of Pharmacy. He also has academic research experience from the University of Alabama, where he earned a master’s degree in biology with an emphasis in Neurobiology. Most recently, Sivaraman earned his Executive MBA at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School with a focus on healthcare administration and finance.
Currently serving as Manager of Pharmacy Services at Cooper Green Mercy Health, an affiliate of UAB Health System, Sivaraman oversees retail and institutional pharmacy operations for one of Alabama’s largest indigent ambulatory care centers. He has spearheaded initiatives that include cultural transformation, technology integration, and infusion service expansion—resulting in significant cost savings, improved patient access, and enhanced workflow efficiency.
Previously, Sivaraman held various other roles at Children’s of Alabama, where he directed perioperative pharmacy services across 20 operating rooms and implemented many standardized medication processes that reduced prescribing errors and improved drug selection accuracy. His expertise spans health system leadership, formulary stewardship, clinical pharmacotherapy, and strategic planning. He is recognized for fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, leveraging technology to drive operational improvements, and aligning pharmacy services with organizational objectives.
He calls Birmingham, Alabama, home, where he enjoys life with his wife and two children. A devoted Alabama football fan, he loves relaxing at the beach with his family and, when not immersed in healthcare leadership, can often be found tinkering with his beloved Honda S2000.
Dean Stovall, MHA, CPAR

Stovall is a military veteran and seasoned healthcare executive with over 15 years of experience driving operational excellence, revenue cycle optimization, and strategic growth in complex clinical environments. He is known for leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams and spearheading initiatives that streamline processes, increase revenue, and elevate patient and staff satisfaction. Currently serving as Executive Administrator at UAB’s Department of Otolaryngology, he combines operational oversight with executive strategy across education, research, and clinical domains. He previous roles include director-level leadership in orthopedics, pulmonology, and hospital systems, where he consistently delivered results in financial performance, workflow efficiency, and staff development. Stovall holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, bringing deep expertise in practice administration, quality assurance, and business transformation.
Kesha Thurston, CRNA, DNP, MSHA, MSHQS
CRNA Manager
Department of Anesthesia
Thurston is a dynamic nurse anesthesiologist, academic leader, and healthcare executive dedicated to advancing perioperative quality, education, and professional development within anesthesia practice. She serves as CRNA Manager for the Multi-Specialty Anesthesia (MSA) group at UAB, overseeing more than 120 CRNAs across 50+ anesthetizing locations, including the main operating rooms, off-site procedural areas, and specialty services. Her leadership emphasizes operational excellence, clinical innovation, and a people-centered approach to workforce development and retention.
As a Clinical Assistant Professor in the UAB School of Nursing, Thurston is deeply committed to preparing the next generation of anesthesia providers through board review education, simulation-based training, and research-informed clinical practice. She has contributed extensively to SRNA education, interprofessional curricula, and innovative gamification strategies to enhance learning. In 2024, she received the Mary Hanna Memorial Journalism Award and remains actively engaged in scholarly work, including peer-reviewed publications and national presentations. Her recent manuscript focuses on the redesign of a shared-education model supporting collaborative anesthesiology practice.
Thurston recently completed her Executive Master of Science in Health Administration and was selected for the 2025 Leadership Academy Cohort. She is also a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, reflecting her leadership, scholarship, and service to the profession. Her research interests include quantitative neuromuscular monitoring, vasopressor-related outcomes in non-cardiac surgery, employee retention in academic medical centers, and patient-experience-driven market share stabilization.
Beyond her executive and academic roles, Thurston leads organizational engagement initiatives, chairs the GROW Executive Committee, and contributes to multiple system-wide committees. Known for her people-driven leadership philosophy, BE a M.I.N.E. — Mentor/Motivate, Inspire, Navigate, Encourage — she strives to create meaningful, empowering, and high-performing clinical environments.
Frankie Wallis, DNP, MSN
Associate Vice President, Clinical Operations
Department of Emergency Services
Wallis serves as the Associate Vice President for Emergency Services at the UAB Hospital, a metropolitan academic medical center with level I stroke and trauma designations in Birmingham, Alabama. He leads operations for the ED at three hospital campuses and critical care transport. He has been a leader in prehospital and hospital emergency services as well as a leader in law enforcement for over 40 years. He advanced from stretcher-side ED nurse to serve in numerous nursing leadership roles during his career. His clinical experience has included healthcare across the lifespan, primarily focusing on emergency, critical care, psychiatric settings, and nursing administration, as well as the pre-hospital setting.
Wallis is a Family Nurse Practitioner and has worked in the clinical settings focusing on rural health across the life-space and pediatrics. He has held various leadership positions with several hospitals and healthcare organizations. Upon completion of his DNP in 2013, Wallis accepted a full-time appointment as an Associate Professor at Samford University. He continues to hold adjunct academic appointments with the UAB School of Nursing and Samford University. Dr. Wallis has served as an adjunct instructor teaching both clinical and didactic courses for many years. He currently serves as State Treasurer for the Alabama State Nurses Association and co-chairs the ASNA Leadership Academy.
Wallis received his Associate Degree from the Sylacauga Hospital School of Nursing at Central Alabama Community College, his BSN and MSN from Jacksonville State University, and his MSN in Family Nurse Practitioner and DNP from Samford University. Dr. Wallis has completed postdoctoral work in Healthcare Leadership, Forensic Nursing, and Healthcare Quality and Safety. He is a graduate of Jacksonville State University's Law Enforcement program and a graduate of the FBI National Academy, which is offered through the University of Virginia.
Tracey S. Wilson, M.D., FACS

Wilson is a urologic surgeon and educator based in Birmingham, Alabama, who has dedicated her career to advancing health equity, serving vulnerable populations, and preparing the next generation of physicians to serve their communities with excellence. She is deeply committed to diversifying the urology workforce as a
means of improving health outcomes for all individuals.
At UAB, Wilson serves as Director of the Reproductive Systems Module, where she has developed a curriculum centered on inclusion and advocacy. Controversial content is delivered in a non-confrontational manner, allowing all who desire to have a voice. In recognition of her leadership in medical education, she received the UAB Argus Award for best MS2 module. Her influence extends far beyond the classroom. Dr. Wilson has spearheaded active protocols and case-based learning initiatives that empower residents, faculty, and staff to examine implicit bias and foster a culture of belonging.
She also provides compassionate, multidisciplinary care for a large adult population with Spina Bifida, modeling for trainees the importance of collaboration, advocacy, and long-term commitment in improving access to care and resources. For her broad contributions to the UAB community, she received the Dean’s Excellence Award in Access and Engagement.
Nationally, Wilson is a member of the Executive Committee of the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine, and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU). As co-chair of the organization’s IDEA Task Force, she guided the revision of its bylaws to expand pathways to leadership for all members, resulting in the establishment of a
standing IDEA Committee that ensures sustainable access and opportunity across the membership.
Wilson earned her B.S. in Biology from Georgetown University, her M.D. from Howard University College of Medicine, and completed her urology residency at the University of Connecticut. She pursued fellowship training in Female Urology, Urodynamics, and Neurourology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Additionally, she has expanded her expertise in equity and advocacy through Cornell University’s Diversity and Inclusion Certificate Program.
