Six faculty members in the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery have been named 2026 Castle Connolly Top Doctors, a distinction that recognizes the top 7% of doctors in the country.
Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. is a healthcare research and publishing organization that has been creating peer reviewed practitioner directories, such as the Top Doctors list, for 35 years.
Physicians selected for the annual Top Doctors list are nominated by their peers and evaluated by Castle Connolly researchers, who assess several factors. These factors include medical education, achievements, procedure outcomes and interpersonal skills.
