  • MFM-Neonatal Conference is an integrated Conference between MFM and Neonatal Fellows
  • Fellow Research Conference is a Conference where updates on fellow research projects are given, in particular the thesis project, to identify any barriers to progress. Also discussion during the Fellow Research Conference will focus on importance, design, and feasibility prior to development and presentation of said project
  • Joint MFM Peds Cards Conference is a Conference to review plans of care for patients with an identified fetal cardiac defect and to review outcomes for recently delivered patients.
  • Adult Congenital Heart Disease Conference is a Conference used to review plans of care for patients with heart disease and to review outcomes for recently delivered patients.
  • MFM Journal Club is a Conference where the fellow is expected to select a journal article for discussion. Journal club should focus on the following questions:
      • What is the question being answered?
      • Is the question important?
      • Study design (type of study, inclusion/exclusion, exposure, outcome)
      • Are the statistics appropriate to the study?
      • Key results
      • Are the conclusions supported by the results?
      • Weaknesses of the study
      • Strengths of the study
      • How will you apply this study to your practice?
      • What are the next steps for research? How could you improve this study?
  • Joint Anesthesia-QI Conference is a Conference where the Fellow is expected to present a case with timeline and identification of potential process improvements
  • Wednesday AM Conferences are either an Ultrasound lecture based on a rotating curriculum or an US conference where the Fellow will present pertinent history and organize images for the case presentation from interesting cases. A fetal care attending will ask appropriate questions of the other fellows such as describe the findings, differential diagnosis, prognosis, etc.
  • Friday AM didactics will be on a rotation and consist of maternal care topics, statistics curriculum, a genetics curriculum, and key articles to read.
