HooverJenkinsThe UAB Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) announces a transition in the leadership in the Division of Women's Reproductive Health. After 15 years of exceptional service and leadership, Todd Jenkins, M.D., will step down from his position as the division director, effective July 1, 2023. Jenkins' contributions and dedication to the department have been invaluable, and the department is immensely grateful for his unwavering commitment to Women's Reproductive Health.

During his tenure as division director, Jenkins has played a vital role in advancing the department's mission of providing exceptional patient care, advancing medical education, and conducting cutting-edge research in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. His visionary leadership, expertise, and compassionate approach have not only impacted countless lives but have also inspired and mentored numerous healthcare professionals.

“The department is beyond indebted to Dr. Jenkins for his many years of service as Division Director of Women’s Reproductive Health, Senior Vice Chair of the Department of OB/GYN, as well as interim Chair,” Warner Huh, M.D., FACOG, FACS, professor and Chair of the UAB Department of OB/GYN. “Under his leadership and vision, his division has grown by at least 3-fold, and he has mentored numerous faculty and trainees to become leaders of the institution and hold important leadership roles in the Department. What is most notable is that he is one of the most selfless, kind, and ‘behind-the-scenes’ leaders that I had the privilege to work with, learn from, and admire. He ALWAYS puts the members of her department first and deflects accolades and compliments onto others and away from himself. The department would not be where it is today without him. I am so grateful to be his colleague and most importantly, his friend.”

Jenkins has been instrumental in establishing UAB's Division of Women's Reproductive Health as a renowned center of excellence. Under his guidance, the division has expanded its services, implemented innovative treatment approaches, and fostered collaboration among multidisciplinary teams. His efforts have significantly contributed to the improved healthcare outcomes and overall well-being of women in our community.

“Dr. Todd Jenkins is a valued leader, mentor, and advocate for Women’s Health at UAB and beyond,” said Taylor Sisson, DHA, MBA, FACMPE, Executive Administrator of UAB Department of OB/GYN. “His attention to detail and ability to engage stakeholders actively and empathetically at all levels makes him an incredible asset and invaluable member of our team. The overall success of Women’s Health at UAB would not be where it is today without his vision and steadfast leadership. We are certainly excited about Dr. Jenkins’ continued leadership role with the department as Senior Vice-Chair for Clinical Affairs. Please join me in thanking Dr. Todd Jenkins for his many years of remarkable service as Division Director of Women’s Reproductive Healthcare.”
