Jennifer grew up in Tuscaloosa, AL where she graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School. She then attended Judson College in Marion, AL where she received a B.S. in Chemistry in 2002. Her first position after graduation was in the healthcare field as a medical assistant at an OB/Gyn office in Birmingham. She first joined UAB in 2002 as the manager for an Immunology and Rheumatology research lab. During that time, she pursued graduate studies and received her MSHA and MBA degrees from UAB. Due to her special interests, she also earned a certificate in Gerontology while in the UAB MSHA program.

After completing a residency with Baptist Health in Montgomery, AL, Jennifer took the position of Quality Manager at Prattville Baptist Hospital in 2007. She was there until December 2010 when she married and moved back to Birmingham. She briefly worked with a healthcare IT company, then returned to UAB in October 2011 to serve as Program Manager for the Supportive Care and Survivorship Program. In January 2014, Jennifer was named the Administrative Director of the UAB Center for Palliative and Supportive Care. Her focus is on strategic planning, business development, and partnerships.

Jennifer, her husband and their children live in Moody, AL. She is a fan of college sports (Roll Tide!) and enjoys traveling to warm climates.
