US Network of Pediatric MS Centers of Excellence
CPODD is one of nine Clinical Centers in this Network. The NPMSC mission is to uncover the key pathogenic mechanisms underlying MS through the study of pediatric MS.

Children’s Harbor 
CPODD Family Retreat, our annual family educational and recreational event for patients with MS and NMO, is held every year at the Children’s Harbor on Lake Martin facility. It’s use is generously donated by this organization. To learn more about Children’s Harbor visit

Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation 
The Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation is dedicated to funding basic science research to find answers that will lead to the prevention, clinical treatment programs and a potential cure for Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO) Spectrum Disease (NMOSD). CPODD partners with the GJCF to study pediatric Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO).

UAB Multiple Sclerosis Center
The UAB Multiple Sclerosis Center is housed in the Center for Neuroimmunology, UAB Department of Neurology. Directed by Khurram Bashir, MD, MPH, the UAB MS Center evaluates and treats acute and chronic MS and related diseases. Local CPODD patients make a natural transition to this Center as they transition into adulthood.
