Early-bird rates for 2019 Academic Surgical Congress registration are available until Dec. 10.

This year’s Academic Surgical Congress will be held Feb. 5-7, 2019, in Houston, Texas.

The registration for ASC, an annual event sponsored by the Association for Academic Surgery and Society of University Surgeons, grows each year, allowing it to provide an even more diverse program that includes talks on topics related to basic science, education, health policy, outcomes research, global health and leadership in academic surgery.

Last year, nearly 70 from UAB presented over the course of the three-day meeting, where UAB won the ASC abstract competition by a margin of 20. Many UAB faculty members are expected to be in attendance this year: SUS member Jayme Locke, M.D., will help lead the program, while George Yang, M.D., Ph.D., will give the SUS Joel J. Roslyn lecture.
