The interactive course focused on the knowledge and skills needed for leadership in academic medicine and was targeted to those at the mid-career level. Several of the topics included negotiation skills, resiliency, leveraging communication styles and strategic planning.

The AAMC has many leadership development workshops on specific topics, such as leadership change, conflict management and emotional intelligence. These workshops are for academic physicians at any career level and focus on early-career development, mid-career development and career development for those in senior or executive leadership positions.
