The UAB Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy provides comprehensive care for patients with the full spectrum of vascular disease. Our faculty offer advanced open, endovascular, and minimally invasive treatments for complex arterial, venous, and lymphatic disorders, with a focus on delivering individualized, multidisciplinary care.
The division includes dedicated programs in vascular surgery and endovascular therapy, a separate Podiatry Section, and a Comprehensive Vein Program with an outpatient UAB Vein Clinic. Together, these programs allow us to care for patients across the continuum of vascular disease, from complex aortic aneurysms and peripheral artery disease to diabetic foot complications, limb-threatening ischemia, wound care, and venous disorders.
Our surgeons have particular expertise in the treatment of complex aortic disease, including thoracoabdominal aneurysms using personalized branched and fenestrated endografts. We also provide advanced limb preservation care, combining vascular reconstruction, endovascular therapy, podiatric expertise, and wound management to prevent amputation and improve quality of life.
The UAB Vein Clinic offers comprehensive evaluation and specialized treatment for patients with venous disease, including varicose veins, venous insufficiency, leg swelling, and related conditions. The clinic provides patient-centered care using contemporary diagnostic tools and minimally invasive treatment options.
In addition to clinical care, our faculty are committed to advancing the field through clinical, translational, basic science, and outcomes research. We are also proud of our comprehensive training programs, including an integrated vascular surgery residency and a two-year vascular surgery fellowship, which prepare the next generation of vascular surgeons and leaders in the field.
