UAB Urology physicians have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating male infertility.
We develop highly individualized care plans using a team approach that can include a urologist, a reproductive endocrinologist, specialized nurses, and laboratory scientists. Corrective microsurgical treatments are available, including vasectomy reversal and varicocele surgery. In some cases, medical treatment for male infertility can improve a couple's chance of pregnancy. We also perform sperm retrieval procedures, including microsurgical sperm retrieval procedures, to obtain sperm for IVF with intracytoplasmic sperm injection. As a major research center, UAB investigates new advances in fertility aimed at increasing the chances of conceiving healthy babies.=
