Vishnu Ramprasad, an award-winning Carnatic fusion artist from Bengaluru, India, performs alongside Birmingham-based guitar-and-violin duo Davis & Haleigh — Davis Little and Haleigh Black. Black is a beloved musician-in-residence with UAB Arts in Medicine. Davis & Haleigh’s music blends Celtic, Appalachian and jazz influences, while Ramprasad brings a deep foundation in Indian classical, Western classical and jazz traditions.
Together, Vishnu, Davis & Haleigh blend musical traditions from Alabama and India, creating a vibrant sound that is both modern and deeply rooted in tradition. Ramprasad performs on the NAVTAR, a nine-string instrument of his own invention that combines fretted, fretless and harp-like elements. After two tours in the United States and a recent tour in India, they are excited to reunite for another run of concerts this summer.
