UAB’s Alys Stephens Center announces Jeff Goldblum and The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra on June 2

Goldblum will take questions, ask trivia questions and play classic jazz with his band.

Jeff Goldblum and The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra will headline the 2019 Viva Health Starlight Gala on Sunday, June 2.

JeffGoldblum photo UniversalMusic PariDukovicThe Viva Health Starlight Gala is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center. This elegant evening benefits the center’s programming and community outreach and education.

With film credits including “Jurassic Park,” “Independence Day,” “The Fly,” “The Big Chill,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel” and “Thor: Ragnarok”; theater performances including “The Pillowman,” “Speed the Plow” and “Domesticated”; and television appearances including “Portlandia,” “Inside Amy Schumer,” and “Will & Grace,” Goldblum also plays jazz with his band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. Whether performing regularly at Los Feliz’s Rockwell Table and Stage or elsewhere, Goldblum will take questions, ask trivia questions and play classic jazz. The evening typically features Goldblum on piano, John Storie on guitar, James King on tenor saxophone, Alex Frank on bass, Joe Bagg on organ and Kenny Elliott on drums, along with a surprise special guest.

A new $75 Junior Patron ticket package is now available for individuals ages 21-39. The ticket includes the pre-performance reception, seating at the show, and admission to the exclusive JPat After Dark Party with live music and complimentary food and beverages. Limit two tickets per transaction, with a valid driver’s license at time of purchase. All tickets include a pre-show cocktail reception and seating for the performance. Tickets are $150 for current Alys Stephens Center members.
