UAB Women’s Basketball goes pink for breast cancer awareness

UAB Women’s Basketball will host the Middle Tennessee Lady Raiders for the annual Pink Game on Feb. 15.

UAB Women’s BasketballBball2, in collaboration with O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB, is going pink to increase awareness and raise funds for breast cancer research. The team will take on the Middle Tennessee Lady Raiders at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Bartow Arena, located at 617 13th St. South, Birmingham, AL 35233.

Attendees can purchase tickets to the hospitality area for $15, which includes entry to the game, a meal and drink, a pink shaker, and a $2 donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama. All donations made to the BCRFA go toward cutting-edge breast cancer research at the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Breast cancer fighters, survivors, and UAB cancer-related faculty and staff will be honored on the court during halftime. To participate in the halftime presentation, please RSVP to Adam Friedman at afried@uab.edu with first and last names, and note whether you are a survivor, fighter or staff member. Registration for halftime recognitions will close Feb. 13 at 11:59 p.m. All attendees are encouraged to wear pink to show their support. 

UAB Radiation Oncology mammography specialists will be on the concourse to pass out information about breast cancer screening. In addition, UAB Eye Care clinicians will also provide free eye screenings on the concourse.
