Nine student films from UAB to debut at the 2022 Sidewalk Film Festival

Nine short films made by 13 UAB College of Arts and Sciences students will premiere at the Sidewalk Film Festival from Aug. 22-28.

The films are:

  • “Another World Right Here” by Sage Ashlyn Lucia
  • “A New Normal” by Britney Vy Le, biology major and Gardendale, Alabama native, and Victoria R. Sutton, computer science major and Hoover, Alabama native 
  • “Barriers to Entry” by Connor Campbell and Ritika Samant, neuroscience major and Vestavia Hills, Alabama native 
  • “Baseball’s Living Museum” by Jordan Blankenship, English major and Trussville, Alabama native, and Chelsie Budd, general studies major and Inverness, Florida native
  • “Brave Space” by Lillie Ben Harris, communications major and Vestavia Hills, Alabama native 
  • “Dance to Me” by Sabrina Palmer, communications major and Suffolk, Virgina native 
  • “Decisions” by Donte Johnson, biomedical science major and McDonough, Georgia native, and Katherine Nguyen, public health major and and Huntsville, Alabama native 
  • “Resilience” by Raven Shaw, media studies and art studio major and Birmingham, Alabama native
  • “Why Not UAB?” by Michael Atiyeh

After their premiere, the nine films will be available to stream online via the UAB College of Arts and Sciences' Media Studies Vimeo Channel. The channel features UAB student films from the Ethnographic Filmmaking class and more.
