Make a splash at University Recreation’s swim lessons this spring

All ages can learn how to swim in a water-safe environment from Jan. 22-Feb. 26 or March 4-April 15 at the University Recreation Center.

Swim Lessons TKWith busy schedules, swim lessons can be hard to fit in. Being mindful of other commitments, the University of Alabama at Birmingham University Recreation is offering two sessions, spanning multiple days to choose from this spring.

Dive into Swim School for full-length swim sessions for all ages by signing up for Session 1 from Jan. 22-Feb. 26 or Session 2 from March 4-April 15.

Swim School is an American Red Cross-based curriculum designed for participants ranging from 6 months old to adult. UAB Swim School is designed to teach proper technique while providing an easy transition to lifelong swimming. Each session of group lessons consists of six 30-minute classes, costing $90 for University Recreation members and $100 for non-members. 
Available classes and schedules for both sessions are:

  • Class A (Level 1 - Parent/Child): Mondays from 5:30-6 p.m.
  • Class A1 (Level 1 - Preschool Aquatics): Mondays from 5:30-6 p.m.
  • Class B (Level 2 - Preschool Aquatics): Mondays from 6:15-6:45 p.m.
  • Class B1 (Level 1 - Learn to Swim): Mondays from 6:15-6:45 p.m.
  • Class C (Level 2 - Learn to Swim): Mondays from 7-7:30 p.m.
  • Class C1 (Level 1 - Adult): Mondays from 7-7:30 p.m.
