The University of Alabama at Birmingham Gospel Choir will present its annual Spring Concert at 7 p.m. Monday, April 14, at UAB's Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center.
The concert will feature music from many eras of American gospel music with spot performances, audience participation and a stage setup that mirrors the style of Bill Gaither's popular “Gaither Homecoming” television show, says Director Kevin P. Turner, D.D.
Local music icons will join the choir on stage as they perform music from the “golden” eras of classic gospel to crossover, and today's genres and subgenres including urban contemporary gospel, Southern gospel, gospel blues and more.
