Graduate education is a tried-and-true method for building critical thinking skills, analytical approaches and strengthened communication skills, which are highly sought by employers today, says David Schneider, Ph.D., professor and interim dean of the UAB Graduate School.

“UAB has challenged me to think outside of the box and to never limit yourself to who you can become,” said Rashand Hayes, a Ph.D. student in the Community Health Promotion program. “I felt a strong sense of belonging, and I was eager to begin my graduate career here,” said Teel Walters, a graduate student in the UAB Neuroscience Ph.D. program. “My growth at UAB has been deeply influenced by exceptional faculty mentorship, which helped me recognize my potential for a demanding career in science.”

“UAB offers a large array of cutting-edge graduate degrees that closely align with our academic and health-based missions,” Schneider said. “With graduate certificates, stackable master’s degrees, traditional master’s and doctoral degrees, there are many options available for students to tailor their educational path to fit their career aspirations.”

Undergraduate students, current professionals and those interested in pursuing a graduate degree are invited to attend and learn more about the graduate opportunities at UAB. Programs across campus that will be featured include:
