“Here & Now” to broadcast live from WBHM on April 30

The radio news program will also speak with WBHM reporters live during the show as they discuss some of the local stories they have been following.

h n 400x200The national radio news program “Here & Now” will broadcast live from WBHM’s studios on the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus Tuesday, April 30.

Robin Young, an award-winning journalist and host of the show, will visit Birmingham from April 28-30. The show will be broadcast from WBHM on April 30. Young and the show’s producers also plan to do some of their own reporting from Birmingham. Listen for WBHM reporters live during the show as they discuss some of the local stories they have been following.

A live production of National Public Radio and WBUR Boston, in collaboration with public radio stations across the country, “Here & Now” reflects the fluid world of news as it is happening in the middle of the day, with timely, smart and in-depth news, interviews and conversation. Co-hosted by award-winning journalists Young and Jeremy Hobson, the show’s daily lineup includes interviews with newsmakers, NPR reporters, editors and bloggers, innovators, and artists from across the United States and around the globe.

“Here & Now” began at WBUR in 1997 and expanded to two hours in partnership with NPR in 2013. Today the show reaches an estimated 5 million weekly listeners on over 450 stations across the country.
